Grocery Shopping :)

After keeping this Walmart Grocery Cart in the closet for a few months, I decided it was time to break it out! Well...she loves it! She pushes it all around and loves to 'fill' her grocery cart. I'm such a sucker for all these toys!! I have a *very* overindulged 17 mo old at the moment. Ohh well..I'm just stocking up on all the cool toys so that she can share them with a future sibling right??!

Rach and Billy came to visit!!

Layna and I were so excited to see Rachel and Billy last Friday. They came in town for Mizzou's Homecoming but made time to visit us Friday morning. Even though it was only a couple of hrs..it was a great to see them. Thanks again guys for the Peppermint Mocha..MY FAV!! BTW-This second picture is ADORABLE!!! Miss you guys! Move HOME soon!

Pumpkin Patch!

This Sat. we took a family trip to Theis Farm Pumpkin Patch. We met our good friends Laura, Dave and their two boys Nick and Michael. We had a blast! They had a huge play area made of straw with mazes, slides, swings, and towers. I took a ton of pictures but here are just a few!

A Weekend Away!

My parents were nice enough to watch Layna this weekend so that Karl and I could have our first weekend away since Layna was born. We drove to INDY on Friday, went out to dinner and had a relaxing evening. The next morning we drove to Huntington, a VERY small town in IN to our friend Brian's wedding. We had a VERY good time catching up with old college friends! Congrats Brian and Gwen!

ELMO!!

Anyone who talks to me frequently has probably been made aware of Layna's new ELMO obsession. Although I'm not a big fan of 'character' things...I just cant resist when she cries out 'MELMO...MELMO' Its just so darn cute! So in my garage-saling frenzy this morning I managed to find 10 Elmo books and Elmo Slippers! SCORE! My only fear now is that she wont want to wear anything OTHER than ELMO SHOES!!

Schellhas Visit

Our long-lost friends Aaron, Leeann (who babysat Layna last year) and Natalee came for a visit this week from Peoria. We were so excited to see them and had a great time watching Natalee and Layna play together. Karl and Aaron had fun smoking pipes and revealing that they were both 'technically obese' (Picture #1) I introduced Leeann to the world of kids consignment shopping and lying about her birthday to get a free desert. These events along with many other fun memories have me hoping we didn't scare them away from ever coming to visit again! Good friends are hard to find! :)

Trip to the Park!

In the attempt to find something to do between the hours of 5:30 and 7pm last night we decided to take a trip to the park. Although Layna was too small for most of the equipment, she was able to swing, go down the side and ride the merry-go-round. Here are the pics! Enjoy!
